The Cancer Vaccine Clinical Trials Workshop was a one-day workshop organized by the Cancer Vaccine Clinical Trials Working Group (CVCTWG), a joint initiative of the Cancer Vaccine Consortium (CVC) of the Sabin Vaccine Institute and the International Society for Biological Therapy of Cancer (iSBTc) with participation by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The purpose of this group was to help move cancer vaccines through the clinical development process more efficiently and expeditiously, accelerating their development and general patient access.
Through this workshop, the CVCTWG sought to gather comprehensive intelligence about the state of the science of cancer vaccines and the tools used for their clinical development, highlight challenges and propose standardized solutions for future development.
Following the workshop, the CVCTWG planned to provide a comprehensive scientific summary to aid in developing future guidelines for cancer vaccine clinical development supporting regulatory authorities with the aim of standardizing and governing the drug development and approval process of cancer vaccines.
