SITC is pleased to announce the 2015 postdoctoral fellowship in cancer immunotherapy in partnership with Merck. Download application instructions and information here.
The SITC-Merck Cancer Immunotherapy Clinical Fellowship Award will provide funding in the amount of $100,000 for one year of salary, equipment, supplies and fringe benefit support to a young investigator. In addition, the award recipient will receive travel support to attend an upcoming SITC Annual Meeting where he or she will have the opportunity to present their work to peers and luminaries in the field.
To be eligible for this fellowship, applicants must:
While assistant/associate professors are not exempt from applying for the fellowship, they should be discouraged from doing so, especially if they are on a tenure track. The fellowship award is largely a training award and a candidate who is not yet on a tenure track and is early in their career will be viewed more favorably than an individual who is already on a career path in a tenure track. One application per person.
SITC recognizes that young scientists are instrumental to cancer immunotherapy research, and in concert with the Society’s mission to improve cancer patient outcomes through the development and application of cancer immunotherapy, this fellowship will provide one promising young investigator with the support needed to further their unique clinical research area.
In a time when resources are tight, but the need for innovation is endless, we hope that you will encourage your lab fellows, colleagues and mentees to apply, or even apply yourself for this fellowship award.
For more information on this award or the Forward Fund, contact SITC at development@sitcancer.org.
