Cancer Bio-Immunotherapy in Siena - 12th Annual NIBIT Meeting

October 9-11, 2014
Hotel Garden
Siena, Italy

Bio-immunotherapy of cancer is providing compelling proofs of clinical success in the comprehensive treatment of human malignancies. The Italian Network for Cancer Biotherapy (NIBIT), a non-profit association established in 2004, gathers the main national groups focused on clinical and pre-clinical research in cancer immunotherapy and biotherapy.

In the awareness that the key to further success is to foster and strengthen scientific collaborations and exchange of ideas, the NIBIT has promoted the organization of the international meeting "Cancer Bio-Immunotherapy in Siena" together with its XIIth annual Congress. As in the past, the meeting will provide a highly interactive forum, in a friendly atmosphere, in which leading experts will discuss clinical and pre-clinical data, providing the audience with a broad overview of the most recent achievements in cancer bio-immunotherapy.

Topics for the Scientific Sessions Include:

  • Mutated tumor antigens and adoptive cell therapy in the clinics
  • Targeting cancer stem cells for immunotherapy
  • The tumor microenvironment and metabolism
  • New developments in immuno-oncology
  • Vaccines: Pitfalls and promises
  • Checkpoint blockade and targeted therapies in melanoma and other tumors
  • Prognostic and predictive biomarkers in bio – immunotherapy
  • Non –profit clinical trials ongoing in Italy and Europe
