President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

With a Society-sponsored meeting sparking international collaboration as well as a major development for our official journal, it was a good month to be a SITC member!

Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer Now Indexed in PubMed Central
PubMed Central indexed our official journal in January. Handling over 1,300 hits per second, PubMed Central is one of the leading digital databases for full-text scientific literature. Inclusion makes it easier for scientists, clinicians, patients, educators, and students to read and cite your JITC articles.

With this expanded access as well as waived processing charges for members (a $2,400 USD savings), now is the perfect time to submit your manuscript.

Updates on Immunotherapy of Cancer and Immunoscore Recap
On January 21-23, SITC collaborated with the Sidra Medical and Research Center to host the Updates on Immunotherapy of Cancer and Immunoscore symposium in Doha, Qatar. Visionaries in the field of cancer immunotherapy discussed ways to improve cancer patient outcomes through immunotherapy and attracted attendees from around the world.

This is all great news for the Society, but it is also great news for you. The year is just underway, so keep an eye out for new programs, initiatives, and educational opportunities.

SITC Raises Cancer Immunotherapy Awareness on World Cancer Day

On February 4, SITC observed World Cancer Day! The global event aims to recognize all types of cancer and all forms of cancer treatment, so SITC made sure immunotherapy didn't go unnoticed.

The SITC team took to social media in support of the event and created an immunotherapy awareness badge (see right) that was downloaded and retweeted dozens of times by immunotherapy supporters all over the globe. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event by sharing, forwarding and retweeting our immunotherapy content.

Still want to spread cancer immunotherapy awareness? To download badge, right click the badge and "Save Image As..."
