Learn, Engage & Collaborate with SITC at ASCO
As you’re getting ready to head out to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, please remember this is a great opportunity to promote SITC and all the great things we have to offer to everyone involved in the cancer immunotherapy field that they can't get anywhere else. Listed below are a few talking points about SITC that you could highlight while you’re networking.
WHO WE ARE
The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), formerly iSBTc, is a non-profit medical subspecialty membership organization of clinicians, researchers, students, post-doctoral fellows, and allied health professionals dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the development and application of cancer immunotherapy through interaction, innovation and leadership. SITC is comprised of over 500 of the most influential leaders and scientists in the field of biological therapy/immunotherapy.
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer to improve cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science, development and application of cancer immunology and immunotherapy through our core values of interaction/integration, innovation, translation and leadership in the field.
GOALS

Learn: Provide education and training about the principles and practice of cancer immunotherapy to be widely recognized as the leading scientific voice in the field

Engage: Strengthen the Society and create a more robust membership base by both attracting new members and retaining the active members through improvement of member benefits and cultivation of key constituency

Collaborate: Expand the Society’s impact and influence by establishing relationships with key strategic partners
MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS BENEFITS
People become members of organizations because they are personally ASKED to join by friends, colleagues or peers. SITC membership benefits include subscription to the Journal of Immunotherapy, opportunities to plan educational sessions or be involved in committees, priority access to SITC news updates, first access to hotel and registration, and access to the Members Only section of the SITC
website (www.sitcancer.org).
SITC 2012
The SITC 27th Annual Meeting & Associated Programs will be held October 24-28, 2012 in North Bethesda, MD. Early registration and abstract submission opened on May 1st. SITC 2012 is all the people you want and need to talk to in one setting...with networking receptions, oral abstracts/poster sessions, young investigator awards and the most cutting edge science all under one roof. You are not one of thousands and won't get lost in the crowd with the intimate setting of 700-800 people.
FUNDING SUPPORT
SITC relies on generous gifts from our industry partners to host educational events with low registration rates for our attendees and do the numerous outreach activities vital to the advancement of the field. If you see someone as ASCO that may be a good contact for us to seek funding, please feel free to get their contact information and forward it on to SITC staff.
PARTY WITH THE CHECKPOINTS
