You're Invited to Provide Formal Comments to FACT
The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) has been a key collaborator in the development of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) Standards. Thanks to Marcela Maus, MD, PhD of Harvard Medical School for her participation on the FACT CAR-T Cell Task Force. As official SITC liason, Dr. Maus reviewed clinical requirements for CAR-T cell administration.
SITC has been invited to provide formal comments to the FACT draft of the 1st edition FACT Standards for Immune Effector Cell Administration. These standards are intended to promote quality in the administration of immune effector cells and will be incorporated into a voluntary FACT accreditation in this field.
These standards apply to immune effector cells used to elicit an immune response for therapeutic intent, such as dendritic cells, natural killer cells, T cells, and B cells. This includes chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T cells) and therapeutic vaccines.
FACT depends on volunteer experts to visit programs and assess their compliance with the standards. For more details about the standards and information about how to become a FACT inspector, click here.
We invite SITC members to submit comments to info@sitcancer.org by August 30 for potential inclusion in the society’s response. Please also note any interest in becoming a FACT inspector. |
