Back by popular demand, the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) will present, “Advances in Cancer Immunotherapy: From Bench to Bedside and Back,” a CME-Certified program, leading into the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting at the Hilton of Chicago on May 31, 2013.
Registration is now open for the session, which is specifically designed to promote the advancement of immune-based cancer treatments and provide clinical oncologists with a foundation for understanding core immunology principles and discuss the most recent advancements in the field of immunology and the immunotherapy of malignancy.
The half-day session will feature a series of lectures by leading cancer immunologists with expertise in the clinical application of treatment options. The symposium will summarize various topics such as the immune system’s role for traditional cancer therapies, adoptive T-cell transfer, checkpoint blockade, and the tumor microenvironment, as well therapeutic cancer vaccines.
SITC will also facilitate the opportunity for professional interactions and networking to promote collaboration and in turn, lead to the effective implementation of cancer immunotherapy treatments into clinical practice.
